Claims:
An aid in the treatment of traumatic or degenerative aseptic joint
disease in horses.

Use with caution in animals with pathologically increased bleeding
risks or in cases
of advanced renal or hepatic disease. Zycan will increase the action
of anticoagulant
preparation due to its structural relationship to heparin.

Dosage and
Administration:
Administer the contents of 1 vial (5 mL) by intra-muscular injection
every four days for a
total of seven injections.
In the presence of active joint inflammation, prior or concomitant
therapy with a suitable
anti-inflammatory agent should be used. The anti-inflammatory
treatment should be
discontinued as soon as possible since steroidal and non-steroidal
anti-inflammatory
agents contribute to the degeneration of cartilage. RLP APPROVED
When Zycan is mixed with local anaesthetics in concentrations over 1%
or with
corticosteroid crystalline suspensions, sedimentation may occur.
General Directions:
Zycan Single Dose Injection exerts its activity by a biphasic
mechanism involving
stimulation of cartilage and synovial metabolism as well as inhibition
of degrading enzymes
which are responsible for joint deterioration.
Zycan Single Dose Injection substantially improves the ability of
cartilage to withstand
stress and helps to restore normal joint function.
