It is used for the prevention of relapses
of
malaria
caused
by
parasite
(
_Plasmodium vivax_
and
_P. ovale_
).
Pharmaniaga Primaquine Tablet 7.5mg
also effective against the parasite egg
of
_P. falciparum_
.
HOW
PHARMANIAGA
PRIMAQUINE
TABLET 7.5MG WORKS
Pharmaniaga Primaquine Tablet 7.5mg
works by killing the malarial parasite
(
_P. vivax_
,
_P. ovale_
and
_P. falciparum_
)
at different stages of its life cycle, both
in blood and in the liver.
BEFORE
YOU
USE
PHARMANIAGA
PRIMAQUINE TABLET 7.5MG

_When you must not use it _
Do not take Pharmaniaga Primaquine
Tablet 7.5mg if you are allergic to:
•
Primaquine, or any of its ingredients
listed at the end of this leaflet
•
Iodoquinol
Do not take this medicine if you:
•
have serious disease
•
have blood disorder
If you are not sure whether you should
start taking this medicine, talk to your
doctor or pharmacist.
_-Before you start to use it _
Tell your doctor if you have allergies
to any other medicines.
If
you
have
a
condition
known
as
glucose-6-phosphate
dehydrogenase
deficiency
(G6PD),
tell
your
doctor.
You may not know if you have this
deficiency
but
your
doctor can
give
you a quick blood test to check it out.
