WHAT MABRON IS AND WHAT IT IS USED FOR
Tramadol – the active substance in Mabron – is a centrally acting
analgesic (painkiller) belonging to
the opioid group. It achieves its pain-relieving effect by acting on
specific nerve cells in the spinal
cord and brain.
Mabron is used for the treatment of moderately severe to severe pain.

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW BEFORE YOU USE MABRON
DO NOT USE MABRON:
•
if you are allergic (hypersensitive) to tramadol or any of the other
ingredients of this medicine
listed in section 6.
•
in acute cases of intoxication with alcohol, sleeping pills,
painkillers or other psychotropic agents
(medicines that affect the mood and emotions).

•
if you are also taking MAO inhibitors (certain antidepressants) or
have taken them within the last
14 days before treatment with tramadol (see “Other medicines and
Mabron”).
•
if you suffer from epilepsy and this cannot be adequately controlled
by treatment.
•
as a replacement in drug withdrawal.
Tramadol should not be used to treat pain in children younger than 12
years.
Tramadol should not be used to treat pain after surgery to remove the
