It is a white to off-white, sterile cream containing 1% w/w silver sulfadiazine. Other ingredients are polysorbates, glycerol monostearate, cetyl alcohol, liquid paraffin, propylene glycol, and purified water. Who Makes Your Medicine Your medicine is manufactured by Smith & Nephew Pharmaceuticals Limited, 101 Hessle Road, Hull HU3 2BN, England. The UK Marketing Authorisation (PL 13374/0006) is held by Smith & Nephew Pharmaceuticals Limited, 101 Hessle Road, Hull HU3 2BN, England. What Is Your Medicine For? Your medicine is a sterile antibacterial cream used to prevent or treat bacterial infections in burns. It can also help treat bacterial infections in leg ulcers or pressure sores for short periods of time and to prevent bacterial infections in skin graft donor sites and large abrasions. Your medicine can also treat finger-tip injuries where nail loss or partial loss of the end of the finger has occurred. The active ingredient in this medicine is silver sulfadiazine. This is the new name for silver sulphadiazine. The ingredient itself has not changed. Before Using Your Medicine Do not use your medicine if the answer to any of these questions is yes: • Are you allergic to any of the ingredients (cetyl alcohol, propylene glycol) given in the section 'About Your Medicine' above? • Are you pregnant or breast-feeding? Do not use your medicine on premature babies or on newborn children within the first few months of life.
