WHAT ACTIHIST-CO PE SYRUP (SUGAR
FREE) IS USED FOR
This medication is:
•
relieve symptoms of allergy, hay
fever, and the common cold by
blocking
a
certain
natural
substance (histamine) that made
by
body
during
an
allergic
reaction.
•
relieve dry irritating coughs such
as those associated with common
cold,
upper
respiratory
tract
infections,
allergic
(seasonal)
rhinitis,
vasomotor
(perennial)
rhinitis and hay fever.
•
help
dry
up
running
nose
and
open
congested
bronchi
to
aid
clear breathing.
HOW
ACTIHIST-CO
PE
SYRUP
(SUGAR
FREE) WORKS
The
three
active
ingredients
in
this
medicine are:
Triprolidine
hydrochloride,
a
H1-
receptor blocking agent, that blocks the
action of histamine, hence relieve the
involuntary muscle.
Phenylephrine
hydrochloride,
a
nasal
and bronchial decongestant that helps
to relieve nasal congestion.
Dextromethorphan
hydrobromide,
a
cough
suppressant
that
affects
the
signals in the brain that cause cough.

Do not take this medicine if:

you
are
hypersensitive
to
triprolidine
hydrochloride,
phenylephrine
hydrochloride,
dextromethorphan hydrobromide or
any of the ingredients listed in the
end of this leaflet.

you cough badly

you have liver disease

you have asthma

you
are
taking
a
medication
for
depression
known
as
Monoamine
Oxidase Inhibitors (MAOIs)


have
serious
