Biatain Silicone Ag contains an antibacterial silver complex homogeneously dispersed throughout the foam. Silver is released to the wound bed when in contact with wound exudate. The dressing consists of a vapour permeable top film which is bacteria-proof and waterproof, an absorbent polyurethane foam layer with silver, a perforated silicone adhesive, and turquoise protective films. Biatain Silicone Ag is intended for moist healing and exudate management of wounds and is indicated for a wide range of low to highly exuding wounds with delayed healing due to bacteria or wounds at risk of infection. This includes acute wounds such as second degree burns, donor sites, postoperative wounds and traumatic wounds; and chronic wounds such as leg ulcers, pressure ulcers and diabetic foot ulcers.
