COMBINED VITRECTOMY PACKS, HIGH SPEED PNEUMATIC VITRECTOMY CUTTERS
These instructions for use are not intended to substitute for the
necessity of reading and understanding the owner’s manual on the
Bausch & Lomb® Microsurgical System. The owner’s manual provided
with the Bausch & Lomb® Microsurgical System includes in-depth
materials
intended to familiarize the surgical team with the proper operation of
the
equipment.
INDICATIONS FOR USE
The Anterior Vitrectomy Cutter Packs are intended for use with a
Bausch & Lomb® Microsurgical System for vitrectomy during anterior
segment surgery.
The Posterior Vitrectomy Cutter Packs are intended for use with a
Bausch & Lomb® Microsurgical System for vitrectomy during posterior
segment surgery.
The Combined Vitrectomy Cutter Packs are intended for use with a
Bausch & Lomb® Microsurgical System for both vitrectomy during
posterior
segment surgery and for phacoemulsification of an opacified
crystalline lens
during anterior segment surgery.
SET-UP INSTRUCTIONS
•
Refer to the owner’s manual for proper connection of components
contained within this pack or sold separately.
•
Proper aseptic delivery and usage of components during setup and
procedure is required to assure patient safety.
•
When appropriate, prime the system per the owner’s manual to remove
any air bubbles assuring proper operation of equipment and
accessories.
•
Press the PRIME button to remove air from the lines. Press the TEST
VIT
button to test the vitrectomy probe cutter actuation. This test shall
be
performed with cutter tip submerged in sterile irrigating solution.
Verify
cut rate and aspiration with the surgeon.
•
Verify proper tubing connection as indicated below.
