WHAT PRITALIN IS USED FOR
For the treatment of asthma, long term
inflammation of airways, shortness of
breath, and other obstructive pulmonary
diseases.
HOW PRITALIN WORKS
Terbutaline sulphate is a direct acting
sympathomimetic amine with actions of
dilating the airways and thus, reducing
airway resistance.
BEFORE YOU USE PRITALIN
- When you must not use it
Do not take Pritalin if you are allergic to
terbutaline sulphate.
_- Before you start to use it _
Tell your doctor before you start:
- if you have heart diseases, diabetes,
hypertension, overactive thyroid gland
which causes increased appetite, weight
loss or sweating and history of seizures.
- Check with doctor immediately if
difficulty in breathing persists after using
this medication or if condition becomes
worse.
- Safety for use in pregnancy and lactation
has not been established.
_- Taking other medicines _
Co-administration of beta-blocking drugs
may reverse the bronchodilating effect of
terbutaline. Concurrent use with other
sympathomimetics may increase the
effects of either these medications or
terbutaline and potential for side effects.
HOW TO USE PRITALIN_ _
_- How much to use _
Adults: Oral, 2 – 3 teaspoonful three times
daily, administered at approximately 6
hour intervals, up to 10 teaspoonfuls in 24
hours. Children: 3 – 7 years: Oral, ½ - 1
teaspoonful three times daily. 8 – 12 years:
Oral, 1 – 2 teaspoonfuls three times daily.

contained in this leaflet. If you do not
understand the instructions on the label,
ask your doctor or pha
