Product Description
What Povil Antacid Mixture is used for
Povil Antacid Mixture is used for the relief
of gastric pain and discomforts of peptic
ulcer, heartburn, dyspepsia (indigestion) and
acid reflux.
How Povil Antacid Mixture works
Povil Antacid Mixture contains Aluminium
Hydroxide and Magnesium Hydroxide which
can react with hydrochloric acid and convert
to their respective chloride salts in the
stomach. They reduce gastric acidity by
neutralizing secreted gastric acid. The
increased gastric pH and decreased pepsin
production helps in the healing of peptic
ulcers.
Before you use Povil Antacid Mixture
When you must not take it
Do not take this product if you are allergic
(hypersensitivity) to Aluminium Hydroxide
and Magnesium Hydroxide or any other
ingredients in this product. This product
should not be given to patients who severely
debilitated or suffering from kidney failure.
Before you start to use it
This product should use with caution in
patients with renal insufficiency.
Taking other medicines
May interfere with or reduce the absorption
of Digoxin, Indomethacin, Isoniazid, iron
salts preparation and Tetracyclines. Hence,
antacids should not be taken within 2 hours
of other medications because the
effectiveness of the other medications may
be affected.
How to take Povil Antacid Mixture
How much to take
Adults and children above 12 years:
Take 10ml to 20ml 4 times a day.
When to take it
Preferably take ½ hour before meals or 2
hours after meals and at bedtime or as
directed by doctor.
How long to take it
Take as directed by your doctor or
pharmacist.
If you forget to take it
If you forget to take Povil Antacid
