Toltracox Poultry is added to the drinking water of chickens for the
treatment and control of
coccidiosis caused by Eimeria species including:
Eimeria tenella
Eimera necatrix
Eimeria acervulina and
Eimeria maxima

Dosage and
Administration:
Toltracox Poultry is administered in drinking water at a dose rate of
7 mg/kg bw/day
diluted at the rate of 3 litres per 1000 litres of drinking water
(3:1000). It is administered
on 2 consecutive days with an 8 hour treatment period on both days.
Ensure full lighting
conditions during treatment. Do not withhold feed during treatment.
Add the required amount of Toltracox Poultry to the amount of water
consumed in an
8 hour period and stir thoroughly. Allow for varying water consumption
during hot
weather. Treat the birds for 8 hours each day for 2 days (2 x 8 hour
treatments).
No other source of drinking water should be available to birds during
the 8 hour treatment
period.
General Directions:
DO NOT USE GALVANISED OR RUSTY IRON WATER TANKS AND RETICULATION
SYSTEMS.
Toltracox Poultry mixes with all types of water. However in areas
where the drinking water
is acidic, the water should be tested with pH test strips and brought
to a minimum pH of 8.5
using sodium carbonate (washing soda).
To avoid excessive foaming, add Toltracox Poultry to the water after
filling the supply tank.
Treatment Programme: To use Toltracox Poultry in a clinical outbreak
obtain an accurate
diagnosis. Begin treatment with Toltracox Poultry as soon as
coccidiosis is confirmed. A
treatment period of 2 days is sufficient. If required, treatment may
be repeated after 5 day
