COMPOSITION:
Each 500mL contains:
Anhydrous Dextrose
25.00 g
Water for Injections
ad 500 mL
Each 100mL contains:
Anhydrous Dextrose
5.00 g
Water for Injections
ad 100 mL
DESCRIPTION:
Clear, colorless, sterile and pyrogen free solution.
INDICATION:
Generally as a nutrient solution equivalent to around 200 calories per
liter. Also to add the blood circulating volume during dehydration,
shock
and hemorrhagic conditions.
DOSAGE:
-
Dosage will be adjusted to the patient individual condition.

Usual normal individual metabolism activity is around 800 mg per kg
body weight per hour.

Administration route : intravenous.
SYMPTOMS AND TREATMENT FOR OVERDOSAGE AND ANTIDOTE
(S):
-
Infusion of dextrose much above 800 mg per kg body weight per hour,
dextrose will appear in the urine, causing hyperglycemia. - Antidote
: Insulin Injection.
WARNING AND PRECAUTION:
-
Care should be taken for patients with renal failure, pre-post trauma
condition and severe septic conditions.

Do not use if bottle is leaking, solution is cloudy or contains
foreign
matter.
SIDE EFFECT:
-
Hyperglycaemia, its osmotic effect could cause local irritation,
anuria,
oliguria, and circulatory collapse.
-
Thrombophlebitis, imbalance of solution and electrolytes as : edema,
hypokalemia, hypomagnesia and hypophosphatemia
CONTRA INDICATION:
Hyperglycaemia
and
patients
with
history
of
Glucose-galactose
malabsorption syndrome, intracarnial or intraspinal, haemorrhage.
DRUG INTERACTION:
Preferably do not add to blood for transfusion, because blood cell
flocculation and the possibility of hemolysis could occur.
PACKAGE:
Plastic bottle of 100 mL and 500 mL.
STORAGE:
Store below 30°C.
