EFFECTS OF THIS MEDICINE
This medicine suppresses excess secretion of prolactin or growth
hormone by stimulating
dopamine receptors in the pituitary gland in the brain. It
consequently controls milk secretion,
eliminates the cause of infertility, and improves symptoms of
acromegaly. It also improves
symptoms of Parkinson's syndrome by stimulating dopamine receptors in
the brain striatum.
It is usually used to treat galactorrhea, hyperprolactinemic ovulatory
disturbances,
acromegaly, pituitary gigantism and Parkinson's syndrome.
THE FOLLOWING PATIENTS MAY NEED TO BE CAREFUL WHEN USING THIS
MEDICINE.BE SURE TO TELL YOUR DOCTOR
AND PHARMACIST.
・If you have previously experienced any allergic reactions (itch,
rash, etc.) to any medicines
or foods.
If you are a patient with pregnancy-induced hypertension syndrome,
puerperal hypertension
(6 to 8 weeks after delivery), cardiac valve lesion or its history.
・If you are pregnant or breastfeeding.
・If you are taking any other medicinal products. (Some medicines may
interact to enhance or
diminish medicinal effects. Beware of over-the-counter medicines and
dietary supplements
as well as other prescription medicines.)
