FOR THE CONTROL OF _VARROA_ MITES IN BEEHIVES ACTIVE INGREDIENT: Contains 250g/kg thymol in the form of a slow-release gel. NET CONTENTS: 3kg APIGUARD gel HARMFUL KEEP OUT OF REACH OF CHILDREN READ LABEL BEFORE USE WARNING: CAUSES SKIN IRRITATION. DESIGNED FOR BIOCIDAL ACTION. PRECAUTIONS Keep out of reach of children. Read label before use. Keep in original, unopened packaging, away from foodstuffs. Avoid contact with skin and eyes and wear latex gloves when opening the container. Wash hands thoroughly with soap and water after use. Do not eat, drink or smoke whilst using. If medical advice is needed, have product container or label at hand. Call National POISON CENTER 0800 POISON (0800 764766) or doctor/physician if you feel unwell. IF ON SKIN: Wash with plenty of soap and water. If skin irritation occurs: Get medical advice/ attention. Take off contaminated clothing and wash before re-use. For advice call NZ Poisons Centre (0800 764 766) CONTAINER DISPOSAL- Dispose of empty container and treatment sheets safely. Recycle used aluminium container. Otherwise bury in a suitable landfill. GENERAL Each container of APIGUARD contains thymol in a specially designed slow-release gel matrix developed for use in beehives to control the parasitic mite _Varroa destructor_ on honeybees. By law all label directions must be followed. THIS PRODUCT MUST NOT BE USED ON HIVES WHERE COMB HONEY IS TO BE COLLECTED. IT IS AN OFFENCE TO USE THIS PRODUCT ON ANIMALS. TIMING: Treat hives in the spring and before honey supers have been added (i.e. before the first honey flow). Alternatively, an application can be made in the autumn immediately after honey supers have been removed (i.e. all surplus honey has been removed from the hive). Do not use when the maximum daily temperature is less than 15˚ C, or when the activity of the colony is very low. Combine weak colonies before treatment.
