AMARA DROPS WELEDA Ref.No. U3277 Act 101/1965 AMARA DROPS Stomach & Nausea Remedy COMPOSITION: Per 100 g Absinthium , Herba 0,5 g Achillea millefolium, Herba Infusum 2,0 g Cichorium , Planta tota 2,0 g Erythraea centaurium, Herba 0,25g Gentiana lutea, Radix Decoctum 1,5 g Imperatoria ostruthium, Rhizoma Decoctum 0,5 g Juniperus communis, Summitates Infusum 0,05 g Salvia officinalis, Folium Infusum 1,0 g Taraxacum , Planta tota 2,0 g Alcohol 30% m/m INDICATIONS: 1) Lack of or impaired appetite and aversion to food. 2) Nausea, sensation of fullness. 3) Stomach upsets and digestive disturbances, indigestion, dyspepsia, heartburn, gastritis. 4) Hyper- and hypoacidity. MODE OF ACTION: Gentiana, Erythraea, Cichorium & Taraxacum: The "bitter" extracts of various component herbs increase the secretion of gastric juices which facilitates the process of digestion. Bile secretion is also stimulated and assists with the digestion of fats. Juniperus Salvia: Are carminatives which soothe the stomach. Absinthium, Millefolium & Imperatoria: Have an anti-spasmodic action. They reduce cramps and griping. Their combined action thus aids in alleviating nausea. DOSAGE: Unless otherwise directed, 5 -15 drops to be taken in a little water half an hour before meals. For nausea, 5 drops to be taken hourly or as required, in a little water. For a feeling of fullness, 5-15 drops to be taken in a little water after meals. COMMENT: In cases of nausea or a feeling of "fullness", avoid the ingestion of food until the condition improves. Amara Drops function well where the above indications are physically based.
