WHAT TIDACT GEL 1% IS USED FOR
Treatment of acne.
Your doctor may have prescribed TIDACT
GEL 1% for another reason. Ask your doctor
if
you
have
any
questions
about
why
TIDACT GEL 1% has been prescribed for
you.
HOW TIDACT GEL 1% WORKS
TIDACT GEL 1% is a topical antibiotic. It
works by stopping the growth of the bacteria
causing the acne.
BEFORE YOU USE TIDACT GEL 1%
_-When you must not use it _
Do not use TIDACT GEL 1% if:
-you
have
an
allergy
to
clindamycin
or
lincomycin
or
any
of
the
ingredients
in
TIDACT GEL 1% listed at the end of this
leaflet.
-you
have
inflammation
of
the
bowel
(regional enteritis or ulcerative colitis).
-you
have
history
of
antibiotic
associated
diarrhea (colitis).
-the use of TIDACT GEL 1% in newborn is
contraindicated.
_-Before you start to use it _
You must tell your doctor if:
-you have allergies to any other medicines or
any
other
substances,
such
as
foods,
preservatives or dyes.
-you
are
pregnant
or
intended
to
become
pregnant
-you are breast feeding or plan to breast-feed.
_-Taking other medicines _
Tell
your
doctor
if
you
are
using
other
creams, ointments or lotions or taking any
other
medicines
you
buy
without
a
prescription from a pharmacy, supermarket
or health food shop.
Some medicines may interfere with TIDACT
GEL 1%. These include:
-the antibiotic, erythromycin.
Your doctor or pharmacist may have more
information on medicines to be careful with
or avoid while using this medication.
HOW TO USE TIDACT GEL 1%
_-How much to use _
Apply a thin film to the affected skin area
twice daily.
_-When to use it _
Follow all directions given to you by your
doctor
and
pharmacist
