WHAT SHINE GLUCOSAMINE CAPSULE IS USED
FOR
Shine
Glucosamine
Capsule
is
used
as
alternative
therapy
for
osteoarthritis
(degenerative joint disease characterized by
joint pain and stiffness).
HOW SHINE GLUCOSAMINE CAPSULE WORKS
Shine
Glucosamine
Capsule
helps
to
improve
joint
function,
builds
up
the
cartilage and also promotes the production
of synovial fluid (the fluid confined within a
joint space and acts as a lubricant).
BEFORE YOU USE SHINE GLUCOSAMINE
CAPSULE
_-When you must not use it_
Do not take Shine Glucosamine Capsule if
you are hypersensitive to glucosamine.
Shine Glucosamine Capsule is derived from
seafood.
_-Before you start to use it _
Tell your doctor or pharmacist before using
glucosamine if you:
1)
Are pregnant or plan to get pregnant.
2)
Are
breast-feeding
or
plan
to
start
breast-feeding.
3)
Have any health problem.
4)
Are taking other medicine.

Tell your doctor or pharmacist if you have
recently taken or are currently taking any
other medicines.
HOW TO USE SHINE GLUCOSAMINE CAPSULE_ _
_-How much to use _
2 capsules, 3 times a day for 6 to 8 weeks.
Maintenance:
2 capsules, 2 times a day for 3 to 4 months.

doctor and pharmacist advice.

PHARMACOLOGY
(SUMMARY
OF
PHARMACOKINETICS
AND PHARMACODYNAMICS):
1.
Glucosamine
Sulphate
stimulates
the
anabolic
metabolism of osteo-cartilagineous tissues through
stimulation
of
the
biosynthesis
of
the
mucopolysaccharides
(which
are
the
essential
components of the cartilage ground substance). It
provides lubricant activity through improvement of
synovial fluid viscosity and increase of synovial fluid
production.
2.
Glucosamine
possesses
arthrotrophic
metabolic
activity by
stimulating the anabolic
metabolism
of
osteo-cartilagineous
tissues
and
improvement
of
lubricant
activity.
The
pharmacokinetics
of
glucosamine sulphate was investigated in 6 healthy
male volunteers (2 per administration route) using
14
C
uniformly
labelled
glucosamine
sulphate
and
administrating it in single dose by intravenous (i. v.),
intramuscular
(i.
m.)
or
oral
route.
After
oral
administration
a
proportion
close
to
90%
of
glucosamine
sulphate
is
absorbed.
Free
glucosamine
is
not
detectable
in
plasma.
The
radioactivity
incorporated
in
the
plasma
proteins
follows pharmacokinetics patterns which are similar
to those after i. v. or i. m. administration, but its
concentration
in
plasma
is
about
5
times
smaller
than
after
parental
administration.
The
AUC
after
oral administration is 26% of that after i. v., or i. m.
administration.
The
plasma
levels
of
radioactivity
investigations in rats and dogs showing that also in
man
glucosamine
sulphate
is
prodrug
for
glucosamine
that
is
well
absorbed
after
oral
administration and that diffuses into several tissues,
including bones and articular cartilages.
INDICATION(S):
As adjuvant therapy for osteoarthritis.
DOSAGE AND ADMINISTRATION:
2 capsules 3 times a day for 6 to 8 weeks. Maintenance:
2 capsules 2 times a day for 3 to 4 months.
CONTRAINDICATION(S):
Patients who are hypersensitive to glucosamine.
