WHAT DIVIDOL IS AND WHAT IT IS USED FOR Hyoscine Butylbromide, the active substance of Dividol, belongs to the group of medicines called ‘antispasmodics’. Dividol Tablets are used to relieve cramps in the muscles of your: Stomach Gut (intestines) Bladder and the tubes that lead to the outside of your body (urinary system) It can also be used to relieve the symptoms of Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS). 2. WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW BEFORE YOU TAKE DIVIDOL DO NOT TAKE DIVIDOL IF: You are allergic to hyoscine butylbromide or to any of the other ingredients of this medicine (listed in section 6) You have glaucoma (an eye problem) You have megacolon (a very enlarged bowel) You have something c Przeczytaj cały dokument
dividol-10-sc-tabs-smpc-v02-r00-mt-a0 Page 1 of 8 Ref: dividol-10-sc-tabs-smpc-v02-r00-mt-a0 SUMMARY OF PRODUCT CHARACTERISTICS _1. _ _NAME OF THE MEDICINAL PRODUCT _ Dividol 10mg Coated Tablets _2. _ _QUALITATIVE AND QUANTITATIVE COMPOSITION _ Each tablet contains 10mg of Hyoscine Butylbromide _3. _ _PHARMACEUTICAL FORM _ Coated tablets _4. _ _CLINICAL PARTICULARS _ _4.1 _ _THERAPEUTIC INDICATIONS _ Dividol Tablets are indicated for the relief of spasm of the genito-urinary tract or gastro- intestinal tract and for the symptomatic relief of Irritable Bowel Syndrome. _4.2 _ _POSOLOGY AND METHOD OF ADMINISTRATION _ Dividol Tablets are for oral administration only. Dividol Tablets should be swallowed whole with adequate water. _ _ _Adults: _ 2 tablets four times daily. For the symptomatic relief of Irritable Bowel Syndrome, the recommended starting dose is 1 tablet three times daily; this can be increased up to 2 tablets four times daily if necessary. _ _ _Children 6-12 years: _ 1 tablet three times daily. No specific information on the use of this product in the elderly is available. Clinical trials have included patients over 65 years and no adverse reactions specific to this age group have been reported. Dividol Tablets should not be taken on a continuous daily basis or for extended periods without investigating the cause of abdominal pain. _4.3 _ _CONTRAINDICATIONS _ Dividol Tablets should not be administered to patients with myasthenia gravis, megacolon and narrow angle glaucoma.
