Use the shorter by Phytophthora 2000 to SOOOL interval during periods of wet weather, or in areas with past sp per hectare histories of the disease. Thoroughly spray pineapple foliage and surrounding soil. For the first treatment, hand drenching is preferred to spraying. Use 2000Uha for young plants, increasing up to 5000Uha for large plants. METALAXYL 250 EC should be applied in alternate years only. In intervening years, use other recommended fungicides. NOT TO BE USED FOR ANY PURPOSE, OR IN ANY MANNER, CONTRARY TO THIS LABEL UNLESS AUTHORISED UNDER APPROPRIATE LEGISLATION. WITHHOLDING PERIOD: DO NOT APPLY LATER THAN 4 WEEKS BEFORE HARVEST. GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS: MIXING: Pour the product directly into water in the spray tank and mix well. Beware of solvent vapours while handling the concentrate and working near an open spray tank. Available studies of the carcinogenicity of metalaxyl are inconclusive. TERATOLOGY (Birth defects): Data suggests Metalaxyl is not teratogenic. REPRODUCTIVE EFFECTS: Data suggests is unlikely to cause reproductive effects. MUTAGENICITY: Data suggests metalaxyl has no mutagenic potential. NOTE: Workers exposed to hydrocarbon solvents in high concentrations, will typically show signs of central nervous system depression. Disorientation, euphoria, giddiness and confusion, progressing to unconsciousness, paralysis, convulsion and death from respiratory or cardiovascular arrest may be observed. 4.
