WHAT GENTAMICIN IS USED FOR
Gentamicin is used to treat bacterial
infections of the eye.
The product can be used as ear drops
in conditions of the ear such as
external otitis and all other external
ear conditions where an antibiotic
therapy is indicated.
HOW GENTAMICIN WORKS
Gentamicin
works
by
killing
the
bacteria.
BEFORE YOU USE GENTAMICIN
-
_When you must not use it _
Do not use Gentamicin if you are
allergic to Gentamicin or any of the
other ingredients of this medicine.

_Before you start use it _
Wearing
contact
lenses
is
not
advisable
during
treatment
of
an
infection
as
it
may
make
your
condition worse. A preservative in
Gentamicin
(benzalkonium
chloride) may cause eye irritation
and is also known to discolour soft
contact lenses.
You should remove contact lenses
before using Gentamicin and wait at
least 15 minutes before putting your
lenses back in.
_Pregnancy or lactation _
If
you
are
pregnant
or
breast-
feeding,
you
think
you
may
be
pregnant or are planning to have a
baby, ask your doctor or pharmacist
for
advice
before
using
this
medicine.

_Taking other medicines _
Tell your doctor or pharmacist if
you are using, have recently used or
might use any other medicines.
HOW TO USE GENTAMICIN
Always use this medicine exactly as
your doctor or pharmacist has told
you.
Check
with
your
doctor
or
pharmacist if you are not sure.
If you are using other eye drop or
eye ointment
medicines, leave at
least
5
minutes
between
each
medicine. Eye ointments should be
administered last.
After the cap is removed, if tamper
evident snap collar is loose, remove
before using product.
