 EFFECTIVE RELIEF OF INDIGESTION, HEARTBURN, UPSET STOMACH AND
OCCASIONAL CONSTIPATION

USES: An antacid and laxative for the relief of upset stomach,
heartburn, indigestion, feeling
sick and for the relief of occasional constipation.
BEFORE YOU TAKE THIS MEDICINE
X DO NOT TAKE:

IF YOU ARE ALLERGIC to any of the ingredients
•
IF YOU HAVE SEVERE stomach problems
•
IF YOU HAVE AN INTOLERANCE TO SOME SUGARS, unless your doctor tells
you to (this medicine
contains sucrose)
! TALK TO YOUR PHARMACIST OR DOCTOR:
•
If you have heart, kidney or liver problems
•
If you have diabetes
•
If you need a laxative dose every day, or you have persistent
abdominal pain, or if symptoms
persist
•
If you are elderly, or feel very weak
•
If you are on a controlled sodium diet (each level teaspoon of powder
contains 185 mg
sodium)
•
If you are pregnant or breastfeeding
IF YOU ARE TAKING ANY OF THE FOLLOWING MEDICINES PLEASE SEE YOUR
DOCTOR:
•
TETRACYCLINE ANTIBIOTICS (E.G. SUMYCIN AND TETRACYN)
 HOW TO TAKE THIS MEDICINE
Check the inner seal is not broken before first use. If it is, do not
use the powder.
Use a dry spoon to measure. Mix the amount recommended below with a
glass of water and
drink the solution, before it stops fizzing. Replace lid firmly after
use.
ADULTS:
FOR UPSET STOMACH, HEARTBURN, INDIGESTION, FEELING SICK: One or two
teaspoonfuls.
FOR CONSTIPATION: Take two teaspoonfuls before breakfast or at bedtime
CHILDREN OF 3 YEARS AND OVER: Reduce the amount above according to
size and age.
DO NOT GIVE TO CHILDREN UNDER 3 YEARS.
Do not take this medicine for long periods of time (generally more
than a week).
DO NOT EXCEED THE STATED DOSE.
If your symptoms persist or worsen talk to your doctor or pharmacist.
IF YOU TAKE TOO MUCH of this medicine by mistake, contact your doctor
or pharmacist straight
away.

CLINICAL PARTICULARS
4.1
THERAPEUTIC INDICATIONS
This product is recommended for symptomatic relief of upset stomach,
heartburn, indigestion and
biliousness and as a laxative.
4.2
POSOLOGY AND METHOD OF ADMINISTRATION
_DOSAGE: _
Adults
Upset stomach, heartburn, indigestion and biliousness; Take 1 or 2
teaspoonfuls in a glass of
water.
As a laxative: Take two teaspoonfuls in a glass of water before
breakfast or at bedtime.
Childrens dosage
Not suitable for children under 3 years old.
For children over 3 years old reduce the dose appropriately depending
on size and age.
Method of administration: oral after addition to water.

CONTRAINDICATIONS
Do not use in children under 3 years old.
Hypersensitivity to any of the ingredients. Do not use in patients
with acute gastrointestinal
conditions.
4.4.
SPECIAL WARNINGS AND PRECAUTIONS FOR USE
Because of the sodium content, frequent use by patients on a low
sodium diet should be avoided. This
includes patients with hypertension and cardiac and renal dysfunction.
Because of the sucrose content,
diabetics should use with caution.
If a laxative is needed every day, or there is persistent abdominal
pain, or if symptoms persist consult your
doctor.
Not suitable for children under 3 years old. Keep out of the reach of
children.
Caution should be taken in pregnancy and in the elderly and
debilitated. Avoid prolonged use.

INTERACTION WITH OTHER MEDICAMENTS AND OTHER FORMS OF INTERACTION
Magnesium sulphate, in common with other magnesium salts, may
interfere with the absorption of
