WHAT ADAZOL IS USED FOR
It is used in the treatment of single and
mixed infestations of roundworm, pinworm,
hookworm, threadworm, whipworm and
tapeworm.
HOW ADAZOL WORKS
Adazol contains albendazole, which belongs
to a group of medicines called anthelmintics
that eliminates worm infestations.
BEFORE YOU USE ADAZOL
_- When you must not use it _
Do not take Adazol if allergic to
albendazole or to other ingredients in the
product. Ask your doctor or pharmacist
for advice before taking.
- Should not be administered during
confirmed or suspected pregnancy or
whilst breastfeeding.
- Not to be used for children less than 1year
old.
_- Before you start to use it _
Albendazole should only be used in the
treatment of hydatid disease (parasitic
infestation by a tapeworm) if there is
constant medical supervision with regular
blood monitoring.
_- Taking other medicines _
Tell your doctor if you are taking any other
medicines, including any that you buy
without a prescription from a pharmacy,
supermarket or health food shop.
HOW TO USE _ADAZOL _
_- How much to use _
Adult and children over 2 years:
Roundworm, hookworm and whipworm
infections: 400mg as a single dose.
Roundworm, tapeworm when mixed
with other worm infections: 400mg given
daily for 3 consecutive days. May be
repeated after 3 weeks, if necessary.
Children 1 – 2 years: Half of adult dose.
Follow all directions given by your
doctor and pharmacist carefully.

understand the instructions on the label,
ask your doctor or pharmacist for help.
