Tracerite Cobalt Pellets for Cattle 89302/137823 Product Name: APVMA Approval No: Label Name: Tracerite Cobalt Pellets for Cattle Signal Headings: FOR ANIMAL TREATMENT ONLY Constituent Statements: 300 g/kg cobalt oxide (each 30 g pellet contains 9 g cobalt oxide) Claims: Sustained release cobalt pellets for prevention and correction of cobalt responsive conditions in cattle. Net Contents: 25 pellets 50 pellets 100 pellets Directions for Use: Restraints: Contraindications: Contraindicated for use unless cobalt deficiency is confirmed. Contraindicated for calves under 8 weeks of age. Precautions: Use with caution as minerals such as copper, cobalt, selenium, iron, manganese and molybdenum compete with each other for metabolically important processes in the animal. Users should seek veterinary advice before treatment. Important: Do not use excessive force when dosing in order to avoid trauma and damage to the throat of the animal. Side Effects: Dosage and Administration: Beef Cattle and young, growing Dairy Cattle: 1 pellet per year. Provide one pellet as soon as convenient after 8 weeks of age. RLP APPROVED Milking Dairy Cows: 1 pellet twice per year. Dose 1 pellet at drying off and again 3 months after calving. Dose first calf heifers about 3 months before calving and thereafter as for cows. General Directions: Administer using a balling gun that delivers the pellet into the gullet. To be effective pellets must be swallowed. To prevent a coating forming on the pellet which may reduce the release of cobalt where this product is used alone, a steel grinder should be administered to maintain the surface of the pellet clean and active. Another mineral pellet such as selenium pellets may also be administered and will also provide a grinding action to keep the pellets clean and active. Withholding Periods: Zero (0) days.
