ACCIDENTAL OVER-EXPOSURE: In the case of accidental over-exposure
remove
animals from area and irrigate gills with clean well aerated water
until ventilation resumes.
Dosage and
Administration:
SHAKE WELL BEFORE USE.
Handle animals gently. Avoid stress prior to treatment RLP APPROVED
Use 5-10 mL Sed8 per 1000 L of water for light sedation (loss of
equilibrium, unco-
ordinated swimming movements)
Use 17-25 mL Sed8 per 1000 L of water for heavy anaesthesia (gill
ventilation depressed
or absent for 5 minutes)
Dilute 10 fold with water and mix well to form stock solution. Add
sufficient stock solution to
treatment area to achieve the desired concentration of Sed8.
Aerate water with oxygen or air to maintain dissolved oxygen
concentration. Temperature
and pH of water should be within 85% of the values to which the
animals have been
acclimatised
General Directions:
Animal Handling Post Treatment:
Do not expose animals to wind or direct sunlight.
Animal Recovery:
Place anaesthetised animals in clean well aerated water.
Full co-ordinated swimming movements should return 30-40 seconds after
light sedation
and 5 to 10 minutes after heavy anaesthesia.
