ACTIVE INGREDIENT:
DEXTROSE (glucose) 400 mg/mL
An aid in the treatment of KETOSIS (acetonaemia) in cattle.
DOSAGE:
Cattle: 350 - 500 mL
DIRECTIONS FOR USE:
BY LAW THE USER MUST TAKE DUE CARE, OBTAINING EXPERT ADVICE WHEN
NECESSARY, TO AVOID UNNECESSARY PAIN AND
DISTRESS WHEN USING THE PRODUCT OTHER THAN AS DIRECTED ON THE LABEL.
Warm the solution to body temperature. Disinfect the injection site.
Snap tip off plug and ensure solution can flow
freely.
Administer by slow intravenous injection. Intravenous use of metabolic
solutions may be hazardous to the animal,
and advice from a veterinarian should be sought before administration.
While occluding the jugular vein below the site, insert a 50 -75 mm
needle and ensure that blood flow is found.
Connect draw-off tube to needle and elevate the pouch to give steady
flow.
If symptoms persist, repeat dose in 12 - 24 hours and seek veterinary
advice.
PRECAUTIONS: Do not remove pack from overpouch until just before use.
Discard any unused portion within 24
hours.
WITHHOLDING PERIODS: NIL
KEEP OUT OF REACH OF CHILDREN
DISPOSAL: Preferably dispose of product by use. Discarded needles
should be placed in an appropriately
labelled “sharps” container for collection. Otherwise dispose of
product, packaging and waste at an approved
landfill or equivalent facility. STORAGE: Store below 30°C (room temperature). Protect from light.
