WHAT U-IODIN LOTION IS USED FOR
U-Iodin
Lotion
is
a
skin
disinfectant
which is applied on the surface of the skin
to treat and prevent wound infection.
HOW U-IODIN LOTION WORKS
Povidone-Iodine
10%w/v
is
the
active
ingredient of U-Iodin Lotion. It gradually
releases
the
active
iodine
which
works
quickly and kills the microorganisms such
as bacteria, fungi and viruses.
BEFORE YOU USE U-IODIN LOTION
_-When you must not use it _
If
you
are
allergic
(hypersensitive)
to
Povidone-Iodine
or
any
of
the
other
ingredients of U-Iodin Lotion.
_-Before you start to use it _
You must tell your doctor if :

you have allergies to iodine.

you have enlarged thyroid gland (a
lump at the front of your neck).

you are pregnant, trying to become
pregnant or breast-feeding.
_Pregnancy and breastfeeding _
You should talk with your doctor if you
are
pregnant,
think
that
you
may
be
pregnant, or planning to become pregnant.
U-Iodin
Lotion
should
not
be
used
in
nursing
mother
unless
specifically
prescribed by your doctor.

Always
inform
your
doctor
and
pharmacist if
you are taking any other
medicines,
including
herbal
tonics,
supplements and medicines that you buy
without prescription.
HOW TO USE U-IODIN LOTION

Always take this medicine exactly as
your doctor or pharmacist has told
you.
You
should
check
with
your
doctor or pharmacist if you are not
sure.

U-Iodin
Lotion
is
for
external
use
only. Contact with the eyes should be
avoided.

Apply the lotion by dabbing gently to the
affected
areas

after
spreading

a

A deep brown liquid with a characteristic odor.
COMPOSITION:
Povidone-Iodine 10%w/v.
INDICATION:
As a skin disinfectant.
ROUTE OF ADMINISTRATION:
To apply topically.
RECOMMENDED DOSAGE:
For External Use Only.
“U-Iodin Lotion” is applied topically by dabbing gently to the
affected areas or after spreading on a dressing, when
necessary.
CONTRAINDICATIONS:
It should not be used on patients who are hypersensitive to iodides
and on patients with non-toxic nodular colloid goiter.
WARNINGS AND PRECAUTIONS:
Application to large areas of broken skin should be avoided as
excessive absorption of iodine may occur. Absorption of
iodine may interfere tests of thyroid function.
ADVERSE EFFECTS / UNDESIRABLE EFFECTS:
Local irritation and sensitivity may occur. Discontinue treatment if
local irritation occurs.

: Irritation of the skin not present before therapy.
