58022 - Radiation therapy bolus, reusable
3D printed bolus is solid material fabricated to conform closely with a patient body outline and add a known radiological thickness of nearly-tissue-equivalent material to the patient outline in order to modify dose deposition during radiation therapy. Bolus may be printed directly in thermoplastic polymer using a commercial 3D printer, or made of a flexible material cast in a 3D printed mold. It is non-sterile, and multi-use. Bolus is modeled on a patient contour which may be extracted from a radiotherapy planning CT scan or acquired using an optical scanner.
