pORTAL EXT Extension Wire may extend pORTAL Steerable Hydrophilic Guidewire to a total length of 318cm, to simplify the exchange of over-the-wire catheters/other interventional devices. pORTAL EXT Extension Wire has a diameter of 0.36mm(0.014?). The total length is 115cm. It consists of a stainless steel core wire with a PTFE coating. A 45mm long Nitinol hypotube is attached to pORTAL EXT Extension Wire?s distal end to connect with pORTAL Steerable Hydrophilic Guidewire's proximal extension dock pORTAL EXT Extension Wire is used with pORTAL Steerable Hydrophilic Guidewire to extend it to a total length of 318 cm, in order to simplify the exchange of over-the-wire catheters or other interventional devices. pORTAL, consisting of pORTAL Steerable Hydrophilic Guidewire and optional pORTAL EXT Extension Wire, is intended for use in extra- and intracranial brain-supplying arteries and in extra- and intracranial brain-draining veins. It can be used to facilitate the selective introduction and positioning of catheters and other interventional devices within target vessels.
