Date of revision WHAT B-MYCIN EYE & EAR DROPS IS USED FOR It is used to treat the allergic or inflammation conditions caused by bacterial infections of the eye or outer ear. HOW B-MYCIN EYE & EAR DROPS WORKS B-MYCIN is an ophthalmic solution that consists of an antibiotic (gentamicin sulfate) with anti-inflammatory and anti- allergic agent (betamethasone sodium phosphate). They work together kill the bacteria and inhibit the process of inflammation. BEFORE YOU USE B-MYCIN EYE & EAR DROPS _-When you must not apply it _ When you are allergic to gentamicin and betamethasone and patients with following conditions: Eye: Those with the virus, mycobacterial and fungal infections of the eye. Ear: Those with inflammation caused by virus, mycobacteria and fungal infection of the eardrum. _-Before you start to use it _ Tell your doctor or pharmacist if you are pregnant, breast feeding or you have any other health problems. _-Taking other medicines _ None has been mentioned for interaction between other groups of drugs. However, tell your doctor if you are using any other medicines with B-MYCIN EYE & EAR DROPS. Some medicines may increase the effects of B-MYCIN EYE & EAR DROPS and your doctor may wish to monitor you carefully if you are taking these medicines (including some medicines for HIV such as cobicistat).
