Algae, including: Cyanobacteria, diatoms, and green algae including: 4 to 8 mg/L For Water used for drinking, do not exceed 4mg/L copper sulphate (equivalent to 1mg/L copper), * Closed Water Supply scheme sections are able to manage the release of treated water where the treated water does not enter sensitive environments as a result of the treatment, including rivers, creeks, ponds, billabongs and other natural water bodies. Filamentous algae such as: (equivalent to 1-2 mg/L Cu) Apply at first signs of algae growth. Lower rates are suitable for control of early developing algae growth (i.e. recently visible growth). Apply the maximum rate as an emergency treatment to severe algal blooms only (i.e. more than 25% coverage of a channel bed OR algae visibly detaching and moving downstream forming floating masses treater than 25% of channel surface OR blocking channel structure and water off- take points).
