What Windexco PE Syrup is used for
Windexco
PE
Syrup
is
indicated
for
cough
and
cold
relief
such
as
dry
irritating cough, runny nose and blocked
nose. It also helps to relieve sneezing,
itchy
and
watery
eyes
associated
with
common
cold,
allergy
and
other
respiratory infection.
How Windexco PE Syrup works
Windexco
PE
Syrup
contains
3
active
ingredients.
Dextromethorphan
is
an
antitussive (cough suppressant) drug of
the
morphinan
class.
It
suppresses
the
urge to cough by dulling the sensitivity of
the nerves that control the cough reflex.
Phenylephrine acts as a decongestant by a
direct effect on α–adrenergic receptors.
Chlorpheniramine
is
a
histamine
antagonist of the H1 receptor that serves
to reduce effects mediated by histamine.
Before you use Windexco PE Syrup
- When you must not take it
Do not take this product if you are with
severe
hypertension,
ventricular
tachycardia,
peripheral
or
mesenteric
vascular thrombosis. Do not take if you
are
allergic
(hypersensitivity)
to
Dextromethorphan
HBr,
Phenylephrine
HCl, Chlorpheniramine Maleate or any
other ingredients in this product.
This
product
should
not
be
taken
for
persistent or chronic cough and patients
receiving
MAOI
or
for
2
weeks
after
discontinuing them. It should not be used
in premature or full-term neonates.
- Before you start to use it
This product should be used with caution
in atopic children, sedated or debilitated
patients and in patients confined to the
supine position. Caution should be taken
in patients with angle-closure glaucoma,
prostatic
hypertrophy,
stenosing
peptic
ulcer,
pyloro
