1 VENTOLIN™ EVOHALER™ CFC FREE SALBUTAMOL QUALITATIVE AND QUANTITATIVE COMPOSITION _VENTOLIN_ _EVOHALER_ is a pressurised metered-dose inhaler which delivers 100 mcg salbutamol (as sulphate) per actuation, into the mouthpiece of a specially designed actuator. The inhaler also contains the CFC-free propellant HFA 134a. Each canister contains at least 200 actuations. PHARMACEUTICAL FORM Pressurised inhalation, solution. CLINICAL PARTICULARS INDICATIONS _VENTOLIN_ Evohaler provides short-acting (4 to 6 hour) bronchodilation with fast onset (within 5 minutes) in reversible airways obstruction. It is particularly suitable for the relief and prevention of asthma symptoms. _VENTOLIN_ Evohaler should be used to relieve symptoms when they occur, and to prevent them in those circumstances recognised by the patient to precipitate an asthmatic attack (e.g. before exercise or unavoidable allergen exposure). _VENTOLIN _Evohaler is particularly valuable as relief medication in mild, moderate or severe asthma, provided that reliance on it does not delay the introduction and use of regular inhaled corticosteroid therapy. Salbutamol is a selective beta 2 adrenoceptor agonist indicated for the treatment and prevention of bronchospasm. It provides short acting (four hours) bronchodilation in reversible airways obstruction. For patients with asthma salbutamol may be used to relieve symptoms when they occur and to prevent them prior to a known trigger. Bronchodilators should not be the only or main treatment in patients with persistent asthma. In patients with persistent asthma unresponsive to _VENTOLIN_, treatment with inhaled corticosteroids is recommended to achieve and maintain control. Failing to respond to treatment with _VENTOLIN_ may signal a need fo Aqra d-dokument sħiħ
