TEAT DIP AND SPRAY
For dipping and spraying cow’s teats after milking to assist in
control of Mastitis. Destroys Mastitis germs on the skin and protects
the open teat orifice
after milking. TEATSHIELD contains a special ingredient which forms a
retentive film for protection between milkings. Will not taint milk
when used as
directed.
DIRECTIONS FOR USE
:
Mixing rate:
Add 1 part TEAT SHIELD to 3 parts clean water. Unused mixture may be
used at the next milking provided it is not contaminated with dust,
etc. Water
not to be above
30°C.
Use a small, non-mtalic container (plastic tumbler, earthenware cup,
etc) to hold mixture to dip each teat of each cow after every
milking. If spraying, thoroughly spray the udder area to ensure all
over cover of cow’s teats.
Longer adherence of “TEAT SHIELD” and prevention of cracked teats
can be obtained by use of the following mixture as a teat dip or
spray; 1 part “Teat
Shield”, 1 part “Glycerine”, 2 parts clean water. The use of
stronger solutions is wasteful, unnecessary and may result in
contamination of the milk.
It IS IMPORTANT THAT THIS MIXTURE BE MADE UP DAILY.
Wash the product from teats prior to milking. Do not use on dairy
cattle when milk iodine levels are
near the upper
!evel
of acceptability. Typically, this occurs when milk production is low.
