1. WHAT UNIFLU WITH GREGOVITE ‘C’ (VITAMIN C) TABLETS ARE AND WHAT
THEY ARE USED
FOR
Uniflu with Gregovite ‘C’ (Vitamin C) tablets should be taken to
relieve the symptoms of colds,
and flu such as nasal and sinus congestion, headache, fever, aching
limbs, coughing and runny
nose. Uniflu with Gregovite ‘C’ (Vitamin C) tablets can also be
taken to relieve the symptoms of
allergic conditions like hayfever, such as nasal congestion.
This medicine should be taken at the first signs of sneezing, dry
throat, aching limbs, coughing,
headache and cold shivers.
HOW UNIFLU WITH GREGOVITE ‘C’ (VITAMIN C) TABLETS WORK
•
PARACETAMOL: an analgesic which acts as a painkiller and reduces
fever.
•
CODEINE PHOSPHATE: an antitussive which acts as a cough suppressant.
•
DIPHENHYDRAMINE HYDROCHLORIDE: an antihistamine which stops a runny
nose and
reduces irritation of the nasal passages and thus provides relief from
sneezing.

PHENYLEPHRINE HYDROCHLORIDE: a decongestant which reduces inflammat

PHARMACEUTICAL FORM
Yellow, biconvex, circular, plain, lemon flavoured chewable tablet.

CLINICAL PARTICULARS
4.1
THERAPEUTIC INDICATIONS
For use as a vitamin C supplement during cold and influenza
infections.
Gregovite ‘C’ Tablets are indicated in adults and children over 12
years old.
4.2
POSOLOGY AND METHOD OF ADMINISTRATION
Adults:
One Gregovite 'C' tablet to be swallowed whole, sucked or chewed every
six
hours.
Elderly:
As adult dose.
Children:
Over 12 years - One tablet to be swallowed whole, sucked or chewed
every
eight hours.
Under 12 years - Not recommended.

CONTRAINDICATIONS
Hypersensitivity to the active substances or to any of the excipients
listed in section 6.1.

SPECIAL WARNINGS AND SPECIAL PRECAUTIONS FOR USE
Patients
with
rare
hereditary
problems
of
fructose
intolerance,
glucose-galactose
malabsorption, sucrase-isomaltase insufficiency, galactose intolerance
or the Lapp lactase
deficiency should not take this medicine.
Should be used with caution in patients with hyperoxaluria.

INTERACTION WITH OTHER MEDICINAL PRODUCTS AND OTHER FORMS OF
INTERACTION
Ascorbic acid, a strong reducing agent, interferes with laboratory
tests involving oxidation
and reduction reactions. Falsely-elevated or false-negative test
results may be obtained from
plasma, faeces, or urine samples depending on such factors as the dose
of ascorbic acid and
specific method used.
Vitamin C may cause cardiac disorders in some patients given iron
chelation therapies such
as desferrioxamine.

PREGNANCY AND LACTATION
Gregovite ‘C’ may be administered to pregnant and lactating women
under the supervision
