medicine.
Elderly patients are more likely to exhibit dose-related
sensitivity, especially agitation, confusion and orthostatic
hypotention.
DRUG INTERACTIONS
If you are taking another drug concomitantly or if you
have just finished treatment with another medicine, inform
the attending doctor, in order to prevent hazards or lack
of efficacy arising from drug interactions.
This is especially important for medicines belonging to
the following groups: drugs affecting the central nervous
system (e.g. sedatives, hypnotics, drugs for parkinsonism,
epilepsy, anti-allergics, anesthetics for surgical operation
and narcotic analgesics), antihypertensives (such as
guanethidine or duretics), cough and cold preparations,
drugs for thyroid disease, anticholinergic drugs or drugs
possessing
anticholinergic
activity
(such
as
antispasmodics), antidepressants (such as SSRIs and
tricyclic antidepressants), MAOIs (e.g. phenelzine),
medicines to treat some mental illnesses (such as
clozapine, sulpiride, thioridazine), alretamine (to treat
some types of cancer), antiarrhythmics (such as
amiodarone or diltiazem), rifampicin (to treat infections),
ritonavir (to treat HIV), beta-blockers (e.g. sotalol), muscle
relaxants (e.g. baclofen), nitrates (for the treatment of
angina), oral contraceptives,
cimetidine (for ulcer), clonidine (for hypertension and
migraine), sulfiram (“antabuse” for rehabilitation) or alcohol,
electroconvulsivetherapy (ECT).
Do not use this medicine concomitantly with monoamine
oxidase inhibitors or within 14 days of their discontinuation.
SIDE EFFECTS
In addition to the desired effect of the medicine, adverse
reactions may occur during the course of taking this
medicine, for example: dryness of the mouth, diarrhea,
nausea, blurring of vision, dilation of the pupil of the eye,
pins and needles, drowsiness, headache, confusion,
disorientation, delusions, excitement, dizziness,
sleeplessness, restless
