Mixing and feeding directions:
Surmax 200 Premix must be thoroughly mixed in feeds before use and
should be thoroughly
mixed with a small quantity of feed ingredient (20 to 50 kg) before it
is incorporated into the bulk
of the feed to be prepared.
As an aid in the prevention of necrotic enteritis due to _Clostridium
perfringens_ in broiler chickens.
RESTRAINTS: DO NOT USE IN FEED FOR FOOD ANIMAL SPECIES OTHER THAN
BROILER CHICKENS.
DO NOT USE IN LAYING BIRDS WHERE EGGS OR EGG PRODUCTS ARE TO BE USED
FOR
HUMAN CONSUMPTION OR PROCESSING.
Thoroughly mix 50 to 75 grams of SURMAX 200 into 1000 kg of feed to
provide 10 to 15 grams
avilamycin per tonne or 10 to 15 ppm. Feed continuously as the only
ration during the period that
birds are considered to be at risk of the disease.
Most outbreaks of necrotic enteritis occur in broilers from 2 to 6
weeks of age.
_APPROPRIATE ADDITIONAL MEASURES TO MANAGE NECROTIC ENTERITIS IN
BROILERS:_
_Clean and disinfect buildings between batches of birds, maintain dry
litter, ensure proper _
_ventilation, avoid overcrowding. Reduce immunosuppressive stress and
disease. Use effective _
_coccidiosis control. Evaluate bird nutrition, particularly protein
and cereal sources and fibre _
_content of feed. Comprehensive necrotic enteritis management should
be planned in consultation _
_with veterinary and nutritional poultry expertise._
