NAME OF THE MEDICINAL PRODUCT
Celcox 100 mg and 200 mg capsules

QUALITATIVE AND QUANTITATIVE COMPOSITION
Each capsule contains 100 mg or 200 mg celecoxib.
Excipient with known effect
Lactose (each capsule of 100 mg and 200 mg contains 40 mg and 80 mg
lactose monohydrate
respectively; see section 4.4). For the full list of excipients, see
section 6.1.

100 mg: Hard gelatin capsule (white body, white cap)
200 mg: Hard gelatin capsule (white body, opaque orange cap)

CLINICAL PARTICULARS
4.1 THERAPEUTIC INDICATIONS
Celcox is indicated for Symptomatic treatment of inflammation and pain
in osteoarthritis (OA) and
rheumatoid arthritis (RA).
The decision to prescribe a selective cyclooxygenase-2 (COX-2)
inhibitor should be based on an
assessment of the individual patient's overall risks (see sections 4.3
and 4.4).
4.2 POSOLOGY AND METHOD OF ADMINISTRATION
Posology
As the cardiovascular (CV) risks of celecoxib may increase with dose
and duration of exposure, the
shortest duration possible and the lowest effective daily dose should
be used. The patient's need for
symptomatic relief and response to therapy should be re-evaluated
periodically, especially in patients
with osteoarthritis (see sections 4.3, 4.4, 4.8 and 5.1).
_Osteoarthritis _
For relief of the signs and symptoms of Osteoarthritis the recommended
oral dose is 200 mg per day
administered as a single dose or as 100 mg twice daily.
_Rheumatoid arthritis _
For the relief of signs and symptoms of Rheumatoid arthritis the
recommended oral dose is 100 to
200 mg twice daily
Special populations
_ELDERLY _
Dose adjustment in the elderly is not generally necessary. However,
for patients of less than 50 kg in
body weight, initiate therapy at the lowest recommended dose.

_PEDIATRIC POPULATION_

Celecoxib is indicated for use in adults above the age of 18.
_CYP2C9 POOR METABOLIZERS_

Patients who are known or suspected to be CYP2C9 poor metabolizes
based on genotyping or
previous history/experience with o
