WHAT SUNTUSS SYRUP IS USED FOR
It
is used as a cough suppressant.
HOW SUNTUSS SYRUP WORKS
The active ingredients in the medicine are
‘Dextromethorphan
Hydrobromide’
and
‘Diphenhydramine
Hydrochloride’
Dextromethorphan is a cough suppressant. It acts
centrally to elevate the threshold for coughing. It
has no analgesic effect or sedative effect on the
nervous
system,
nor
any
other
established
pharmacological
action.
Diphenhydramine
hydrochloride
is
an
antihistamine
with
anticholinergic (drying) and sedative side-effects.
Antihistamines appear to compete with histamine
for cell receptor sites on effector cells.
BEFORE YOU USE SUNTUSS SYRUP
WHEN YOU MUST NOT USE IT

If you are patients with liver disease.

If you are children under 2 years of
age.

If you are persistent or chronic
cough such as occurs with smoking,
asthma or emphysema, or where cough
is accompanied by excessive secretions.

If you have epilepsy, glaucoma, or
difficulty in urination due to
enlargement of the prostate gland.

If you engaging in activities requiring
mental alertness, such as driving a car or
operating appliances, machinery, etc.
BEFORE YOU START TO USE IT
You should check with your doctor:-
