WHAT STEI IS USED FOR
Stei contains the active ingredient betahistine
dihydrochloride.
Stei is used in the treatment of Meniere’s
syndrome
(inner
ear
disorder
that
affect
balance and hearing), symptoms of which
may include problem with balance (vertigo),
ringing in the ears (tinnitus) and hearing loss.
HOW STEI WORKS
Stei works by improving the blood flow of
the inner ear which relieves the pressure and
restoring it to normal.
BEFORE YOU USE STEI_ _

_When you must not use it_
Do not take Stei if you:
• Have ever had a reaction or been told that
you
are
allergic
to
betahistine
dihydrochloride or any of the excipients.
•
With
rare
tumour
in
adrenal
gland
(phaeochromocytoma)
and
active
stomach
ulcer (peptic ulcer).

_Before you start to use it _
Tell your doctor if you:
• Having peptic ulcer
• Had a history of peptic ulceration
• With asthma
• Are pregnant, planning to become pregnant,
or are breast-feeding
If you are not sure whether you should start
taking this medicine, consult your doctor.

_Taking other medicines _
Inform your doctor or pharmacist if you are
taking or if you have recently taken any other
medicines,
including
medicines
obtained
without a prescription.
Some medicines and Stei may interfere with
each other. It is important to tell your doctor
or pharmacist if you are taking:
• Anti-histamine e.g. chlorpheniramine
_Pregnancy and breast-feeding _
Safety of use of Stei in pregnant and nursing
mothers has not been established. Tell your
doctor immediately if you are pregnant; think
you
are
pregnant;
planning
to
become
pregnant or about to start breastfeeding.
