USED FOR
It is indicated as antiseptic for minor
burns, cuts, wounds, sores and rashes.
Also
used
as
general
disinfectant,
household

personal

It
should not be used if you had known to
be
hypersensitive
to
chlorhexidine
gluconate
and
cetrimide
or
other
components of the formulation.

Hypersensitivity
to
chlorhexidine
gluconate and cetrimide may occur after
prolonged and repeated applications.

as recommended.
The usual dose:
Personal
hygiene,
wounds
&
burns:
dilute 1 capful (10 ml) in 125 ml of water
House disinfectant: dilute 1 capful (10
ml) in 250 ml of water.

Clear, orange solution
PHARMACODYNAMICS
Chlorhexidine is an effective antiseptic with a wide range of activity
against microorganisms, including
gram positive and gram negative bacteria, fungi and viruses.
Cetrimide is a quaternary ammonium compound with surfactant and
antiseptic properties.
PHARMACOKINETICS
Not applicable.
INDICATIONS
It is indicated as antiseptic for minor burns, cuts, wounds, sores and
rashes.
It is used as general disinfectant, household disinfectant and
personal hygiene.
RECOMMENDED DOSE
Personal hygiene, wounds & burns: dilute 1 capful (10 ml) in 125 ml of
water.
House disinfectant: dilute 1 capful (10 ml) in 250 ml of water.
ROUTE OF ADMINISTRATION
For topical application.
CONTRAINDICATIONS
Hypersensitivity to chlorhexidine gluconate and cetrimide may occur
after prolonged and repeated
applications to the skin.
WARNING AND PRECAUTIONS
Rexom
Wina
Antiseptic
Liquid
contains
chlorhexidine.
Chlorhexidine
is
known
to
induce
hypersensitivity, including generalised allergic reactions and
anaphylactic shock. The prevalence of
chlorhexidine hypersensitivity is unknown, but available literature
suggests this is likely to be very rare.
Rexom Wina Antiseptic Liquid should not be administered to anyone with
a possible history of an
allergic reaction to chlorhexidine.
If any signs or symptoms of a suspected hypersensitivity reaction such
as itching, skin rash, redness,
swelling, breathing difficulties, light headedness, and rapid heart
rate develop, immediately stop using
the product. Appropriate therapeutic countermeasures must be
instituted as clinically indicated.
Keep all medicines out of the reach of children.
Keep out of the eyes and ears.
Treat accidental splashes by washing open eyes with water for at least
ten minutes, seek medical advice.
