WHAT REXOM
TM HYDROCORTISONE
NEOMYCIN IS USED FOR
It
is
indicated
for
the
treatment
of
allergic
dermatitis
and
other
inflammatory
skin
diseases
when
complicated
by
infection
caused
by
organisms
susceptible
to
neomycin
including
contact
dermatitis,
neurodermatitis,
atopic
dermatitis
(allergic
eczema),
non-specific
anogenital
pruritus
and
seborrheic
dermatitis.
HOW REXOM
TM HYDROCORTISONE
NEOMYCIN WORKS
Rexom
TM
Hydrocortisone
Neomycin
Cream
contains
0.5%
w/w
Hydrocortisone
Acetate
BP and 0.5%
w/w
Neomycin
which
is
absorbed
systemically.
HYDROCORTISONE:
Occlusion or use over
extensive areas increases absorption of
topical
dosage
forms.
It
is
mostly
metabolized in skin.
NEOMYCIN:
Neomycin
is
readily
absorbed from large denuded, burned or
granulating
areas
and
may
cause
nephrotoxicity and moderate to severe
ototoxicity
especially
if
given
concurrently.
The
use
of
topical
antibacterial
may
lead
to
skin
sensitization,
resulting
in
hypersensitivity
reactions
with
subsequent
topical or systemic use of
the medication.
BEFORE YOU USE REXOM
TM
HYDROCORTISONE NEOMYCIN
_-When you must not use it _
•
If you have tuberculous infection of
skin,
fungus
infection,
herpes
simplex,
vaccinia,
varicella
and
extensive open wound.

You must tell your doctor if:
•
You have allergies to any medicine
which you have taken previously to
treat your current condition. .
•
You are pregnant, trying to become
pregnant or breast-feeding.
