WHAT _PRIMETIL _IS USED FOR
For prevention and control of nausea and
vomiting. For treatment of Meniere’s
disease (inner ear disorder that affects
balance and hearing).
HOW _PRIMETIL _WORKS
_Primetil _
contain a medicine called
prochlorperazine maleate, which belongs to
a group of medicines called phenothiazene
antipsychotics. It works by blocking the
effects of a chemical in the brain.
BEFORE YOU USE _PRIMETIL _
_- When you must not use it _

• Do not take

if you are
allergic to its active ingredient or to
other ingredients in it.

if you have central
nervous system depression and heart/
circulatory problem.

_- Before you start to use it _
Inform the doctor or pharmacist if you:
- are a diabetic
- are an alcoholic
- have liver problem
- are pregnant/plan to get pregnant or
lactating
- have some blood disorder problems
- have breathing problem
- have heart and circulatory disease
- have parkinson disease

_ Primetil _
is not recommended if a child
weigh less than 10kg.
_- Taking other medicines _
Ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice
before taking any medicine.
Tell your doctor if you are taking any
other medicines as
_Primetil_
and other
medicines may influence each other's
effects. Some of the medicines are:
- narcotic pain killers
- anticonvulsants for seizure and fits
- levodopa (medicine used to treat
Parkinson's disease)
- guanetidine (medicine used to treat
high blood pressure)
- medications that cause extrapyrimidal
reaction such as antipsychotic medicines
- beta-adrenergic blocking medicines
such as metoprolol.
