WHAT
PHARMANIAGA
METHYLDOPA
TABLET IS USED FOR
Pharmaniaga Methyldopa Tablet is
used in the clinical treatment of the
following disorders:
•
Hypertension (or high blood
pressure).
•
Gestational hypertension (or
pregnancy-induced
hypertension).
HOW
PHARMANIAGA
METHYLDOPA
TABLET WORKS
Methyldopa will be converted to a
natural chemical in the body which
acts to lower blood pressure.
BEFORE
YOU
TAKE
PHARMANIAGA
METHYLDOPA TABLET
_- When you must not to use it _
Are allergic (hypersensitive) to
methyldopa or any of the other
ingredients.
•
Have liver disease.
•
Have high blood pressure due to
a tumour near the kidney
(phaeochromocytoma).
•
Suffer from depression.
•
Are taking MAOIs (monoamine
oxidase inhibitors) for
depression.
_- Before you start to take it_
You should check with your doctor or
pharmacist
before
taking
Pharmaniaga Methyldopa Tablet if
you:
•
Have had liver disease.
•
Have kidney disease
•
Or a relative have a
genetic/inherited
disorder
of
the
red
blood
pigment
haemoglobin (porphyria).
•
Have
damaged
or
diseased
blood vessels in your brain.
•
Think you may be pregnant.
•
Planning to become pregnant.
•
Breast-feeding.
You should also tell your doctor
that
you
are
being
treated
with
Pharmaniaga Methyldopa Tablet if
you are to:
•
Have dialysis.
•
Have laboratory test.
•
Have an operation.
•
Have blood transfusion.
