The
pharmacologic
activity
of
this
product is generally attributed to the
keratolytic activity of salicylic acid,
which
is
incorporated
into
a
polyacrylic,
film-forming
virucidal
solution designed to cover
the
wart
without the need for a bandage, which
results
in
mechanical
removal
of
epidermal
cells
infected
with
wart
viruses.

PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
White smooth cream
INDICATION
For removal of warts.
PHARMACODYNAMICS
The pharmacologic activity of this product is generally attributed to
the keratolytic activity of salicylic acid, which is incorporated
into a polyacrylic, film-forming virucidal solution designed to cover
the wart without the need for a bandage, which results in
mechanical removal of epidermal cells infected with wart viruses.
PHARMACOKINETICS
Salicylic acid may be percutaneously absorbed.
RECOMMENDED DOSAGE
Apply daily and protect surrounding skin (eg with soft paraffin or
specially designed plaster), may need to continue up to 3 months.
CONTRAINDICATION
If you are allergic (hypersensitive) to any ingredient in NW Salicylic
Acid 20%w/w Cream.
WARNING AND PRECAUTIONS
For EXTERNAL USED only
Can cause convulsion

Contraindicated in children below 2 years of age. Caution must be
exercised when older children are treated. Avoid direct
application into the nostrils.
It is dangerous to any camphor containing product into the nostrils of
children. A small amount applied this way may cause
immediate collapse.
INTERACTION WITH OTHER MEDICAMENTS
Salicylic Acid is known to interact with other drugs. Consult your
doctor/pharmacist.

STATEMENT ON USAGE DURING PREGNANCY AND LACTATION
Whilst there are no known contra-indications to the use of salicylic
acid during pregnancy and lactation, the safety has not been
established. Salicylic acid should therefore be used with caution or
following professional advice.
ADVERSE EFFECT/UNDESIRABLE EFFECT
Common side effects may include minor skin irritation, rash, or
peeling; or changes in the color of treated skin (usually whitening).
Severe allergic reactions (rash; hives; itching; difficulty breathing;
tightness in the chest; swelling of the mouth, face, lips, or
tongue); skin redness or irritation.
