WHAT HYPERNEB 3% IS
USED FOR

HYPERNEB 3%
is used to improve
mucus clearance in cystic fibrosis.

It is also used for mild to moderate
acute viral bronchiolitis in infants.
HOW HYPERNEB 3%
WORKS
HYPERNEB
3%
is
a
hypertonic
solution prescribed by your doctor for
your nebuliser to help clear the phlegm
from your chest.
It works by thinning the phlegm and
making it easier to clear when coughing.
This
can
afford
patients
with
cystic
fibrosis,
bronchiolitis
and
acute
viral
bronchitis to have a considerable relief.
BEFORE YOU USE
HYPERNEB 3%
When you must not use it
DO NOT TAKE HYPERNEB 3%
If there is a tendency to develop dyspnea
or hypersensitivity.
Before you start to use it
To make sure sodium chloride is safe for
usage, tell your doctor if you have:

Asthma

Heart disease or high blood pressure

Epilepsy

Kidney or liver disease

Migraine headaches

Any type of edema (swelling)

If you have recently had surgery or

If you are on a low-salt diet
Taking other medicines
Tell your doctor if you are taking any
other medicines,
especially potassium
supplements, diuretics, steroids, blood
pressure
medications,
or
medications
that contain sodium.
You should consult your doctor before
mixing
HYPERNEB
3%
with
other
medications. When
HYPERNEB 3%
is
mixed with other medications, there is
always
the
possibility
of
chemical
cross-reactions
which
can
impair
the
effectiveness of the treatment.

USER INFORMATION
HYPERNEB 3%
SODIUM CHLORIDE 3% W/V NEBULISER SOLUTION BP
COMPOSITION:
Each 4mL solution contains Sodium Chloride BP 120mg.
PRODUCT DESCRIPTION:
HYPERNEB 3%
is a clear and colourless solution. Each single-use ampoule contains 4
mL sterile, preservative-free
and non-pyrogenic Sodium Chloride 3% w/v Nebuliser Solution BP for
inhalation.
PHARMACOLOGY:
PHARMACODYNAMICS:
Increase the mobilization of secretions in the lower airways in cases
of mucous consolidation (cystic fibrosis,
bronchiolitis, acute viral bronchitis) by osmotic effects.
INDICATION:
Mobilise lower respiratory tract secretions in mucous consolidation
(e.g. cystic fibrosis).
Mild to moderate acute viral bronchiolitis in infants.
RECOMMENDED DOSAGE:
4mL to be taken 2 to 4 times daily as required.
ROUTE OF ADMINISTRATION:
The single-use ampoules are intended only for inhalation with suitable
nebulising devices and should not be
taken orally or administered parenterally.
WARNINGS AND PRECAUTIONS :
1. You should consult your doctor before mixing
HYPERNEB 3%
with other medications. When
HYPERNEB 3%
is mixed with other medications, there is always possibility of
chemical cross-reactions which can impair
effectiveness of the treatment.
2. If there is a tendency to develop dyspnea or hypersensitivity is
present,
HYPERNEB 3%
must not be used
without medical supervision.
CAUTION:
HYPERNEB 3%
contains no preservative. It should be opened immediately before
administration.
Do not use if ampoule is damaged. Single-use container. Discard all
unused contents.
ADVERSE EFFECTS/UNDESIRABLE EFFECTS:
In rare cases, temporary irritations (e.g. coughing) or reversible
constriction of the bronchia can occur. The
doctor will often recommend that a bronchodilator be used before
treatment. If undesirable side effects do
occur, discontinue treatment and seek advice from your doctor or
pharmacist.
STORAGE CONDITION BEFORE AND AFTER OPENING:
Do not store above 30°C.
