WHAT HOVID-POVIDONE 10% SOLUTION
IS
USED FOR
Hovid-Povidone 10% Solution is used as
a disinfectant and antiseptic mainly for
the treatment of contaminated wound and
abrasion.
HOW HOVID-POVIDONE 10% SOLUTION
WORKS
Hovid-Povidone
Solution
contains
povidone-Iodine, which has a prolonged
antibacterial and antifungal action.
BEFORE YOU USE HOVID-POVIDONE 10%
SOLUTION
_- When you must not use it _
Do not take this medicine if:
•
you are allergic to povidone-iodine
or
any
other
ingredients
of
this
medicine
(listed
in
Product
Description).

_Before you start to use it _
Tell your doctor or pharmacist if you:
•
have thyroid disorders.
•
are planning to take tests of thyroid
function
Pregnancy and lactation
Please consult your doctor or pharmacist
if
you
are
pregnant,
planning
for
pregnancy or breastfeeding before using
any medicine.
Pregnant women with vaginal infection
should
not
be
treated
with
povidone-
iodine on the vagina area as it may cause
the
enlargement
of
thyroid
gland
and
thyroid hormone deficiency in the baby.

other medicines, including any that you

Apply small amount of Hovid Povidone
10% solution onto the affected part of the
skin, after cleaning it.

Use it 1-3 times daily or as directed by
your doctor or pharmacist.
