WHAT HERBESSER 90 SR IS USED FOR
Herbesser 90 SR is used to treat
hypertension and angina. Hypertension is
high blood pressure. Angina is a severe
chest pain which occurs when the heart
muscles do not receive enough oxygen.
HOW HERBESSER 90 SR WORKS
Herbesser 90 SR works by relaxing and
opening up the blood vessel. This allows
blood to circulate more freely around the
body, lowering blood pressure and
helping more oxygen to reach the heart.
BEFORE YOU USE HERBESSER 90 SR

Do not use this product if you have
any heart problem like heart block.
Do not use this product if you are
allergic to Diltiazem Hydrochloride, or
any other ingredients in this
medication.
_Pregnancy and lactation _

Do not take Herbesser 90 SR if you are
pregnant, trying to get pregnant or think
you may be pregnant.
Do not take Herbesser 90 SR if you are
breast-feeding. Ask your doctor or
pharmacist for advice before taking any
medicine.

Before you start to take this
medication, let your doctor know if
you have:

any other medical condition,
especially any heart related disease, or
hypotension.

have undergo, or is planning to take
any sort of operation, minor or major.

Some medications might cause
complications when taken together
with Herbesser 90 SR. These include:

asunaprevir-containing product
-
ivabradine hydrochloride
-
lomitapide mesylate
-
antihypertensive agents
*effect of antihypertensive agents is
enhanced

beta - blocking agents or rauwolfia
preparations
*lower heart rate might occur
-
carbamazepi

DESCRIPTION
-
Diltiazem hydrochloride occurs as white crystals or crystalline
powder. It is odorless.
-
It is very soluble in formic acid, freely soluble in water, in
methanol and in chloroform,
sparingly soluble in acetonitrile, slightly soluble in dehydrated
ethanol and in acetic
anhydride, and practically insoluble in ether.

Melting point: 210 ⁰C – 215 ⁰C (decomposition)

INDICATIONS
-
Hypertension. It may be used alone or in combination with other
antihypertensive medications,
such as diuretics.

Angina pectoris, variant angina
DOSAGE AND ADMINISTRATION
For adults, 1 capsule (90mg as diltiazem hydrochloride) twice a day
orally. The dosage may be
increased or decreased according to the severity of symptoms.
Diltiazem hydrochloride has an additive
antihypertensive effect when used with other antihypertensive agents.
Therefore, the dosage of
diltiazem hydrochloride or the concomitant antihypertensive may need
to be adjusted when adding one
to the other.
PRECAUTIONS
1.
CAREFUL ADMINISTRATION (HERBESSER SHOULD BE ADMINISTERED WITH CARE IN
THE FOLLOWING
PATIENTS.)
1)
Patients
with
congestive
cardiac
failure.
[Symptoms
of
cardiac
failure
may
be
aggravated.]
2)
Patients with severe bradycardia (less than 50 beats/min) or first
grade atrioventricular
block.
[Depression
of
cardiac
stimulation
and
cardiac
conduction
may
occur
excessively.]
CONTRAINDICATIONS (HERBESSER IS CONTRAINDICATED IN THE FOLLOWING
PATIENTS.)

Patients with severe congestive cardiac failure [Symptoms of cardiac
failure may be
aggravated].

Patients with second or third degree atrioventricular block or sick
sinus syndrome
(persistent sinus bradycardia) (less than 50 beats/ minute), sinus
arrest, sinoatrial block,
