HOW GLIX TABLET 5MG WORKS It helps to lower blood sugar level by stimulating the release of insulin from pancreas. BEFORE YOU USE GLIX TABLET 5MG _-When you must not use it_ When you are allergic to glipizide. If you have diabetic ketoacidosis, severe hepatic and renal problems, you must not take this medicine. _-Before you start to use it _ Tell your doctor if you are using any other medicines or you have other health problems. - _Taking other medicines _ Tell your doctor if you are taking any other medications. There may be an interaction between glipizide and some other medications, including NSAIDs, salicylates, sulfonamides, chloramphenicol, probenecid, MAOIs and beta blockers. HOW TO USE GLIX TABLET 5MG _-How much to use _ Initially, the recommended dosage is 2.5- 5mg daily, dosage up to 15mg may be given as a single dose and the maximum daily dosage is 40 mg. _ _ _-When to use it _ Glix Tablet 5mg should be taken 30 minutes before breakfast. _-How long to use it _ The tablet should be taken as your doctor or pharmacist advised you to do so. _-If you forget to use it _ If you missed a dose of Glix Tablet 5mg, take it as soon as possible. If it is approaching time for the next dose, do not double the dose to make up for the forgotten dose, unless advised by your health care provider. _-If you use too much (overdose) _ Hypoglycaemia with symptoms such as loss of consciousness may occur.
