FOR
Flavisept
Lotion
is
used
for
the
treatment
of
infected
wounds,
burns,
and skin disinfection.
HOW FLAVISEPT LOTION 0.1% WORKS
Flavisept
Lotion
0.1%
contains
acriflavine
which
kills
the
bacteria
causing infection in wounds or burns.

dressing and renew daily if required.

Acriflavine Hydrochloride
100 mg
PRESERVATIVE:
Chlorocresol
0.1% w/v
DESCRIPTION
Orange coloured, odourless clear lotion
PHARMACODYNAMICS / PHARMACOKINETICS
Slow acting antiseptic. Bacteriostatic against many gram-positive
bacteria
but
less
effective
against
gram-negative
bacteria.
Ineffective
against
spores.
Activity
is
increased
in
alkaline
solutions and is not reduced by tissue fluids.
INDICATION
For treatment of infected wounds, burns and skin infections
ROUTE OF ADMINISTRATION
Topical
RECOMMENDED DOSE
Wash the affected part carefully with clean water. Dry and apply
lotion 2 - 3 times a day.
