WHAT DIPRODIN ELIXIR IS
USED FOR
Diprodin Elixir is used for temporary
relief of nasal and sinus congestions
associated with:
•
Wet cough.
•
Common cold.
•
Allergic rhinitis (inflammation of
the mucous membrane inside the
nose).
HOW
DIPRODIN
ELIXIR
WORKS
Diphenhydramine hydrochloride is an
antihistamine
and
it
has
anticholinergic properties.
Ephedrine
hydrochloride
is
a
sympathomimetic
agent
and
has
a
pronounced stimulating effect on the
central
nervous
system
(CNS).
It
induces
peripheral
vasoconstriction
(narrowing of the blood vessels) and
caused bronchodilatation (expansion
of the bronchial air passages). It also
has
a
stimulant
action
on
the
respiratory centre.
BEFORE YOU USE DIPRODIN
ELIXIR
_When you must not use it _
•
If
you
are
allergic
or
hypersensitive
to
any
of
the
ingredients in this medicine.
•
If
it
is
not
prescribed
by
a
qualified doctor or
pharmacist
for you.
•
Do not take Diprodin Elixir if you
are
pregnant,
trying
to
get
pregnant or think you may be
pregnant.
•
Do not take Diprodin Elixir if you
are breast-feeding. Ask your
doctor or pharmacist for advice
before taking any medicine.
_Before you start to use it _
Tell your doctor if:
•
If
you
are
allergic
to
any
medicines, food and dyes.
•
If
you
are
taking
any
other
medicines
including
those
not
prescribed by your doctor.
•
If
you
have
narrow
angle
glaucoma (buildup of pressure in
the eye that affects vision).
•
If
you
have
pyloroduodenal
obstruction (pyloric obstruction).

If you have prostatic hypertrophy
(enlargement of the prostate).
