What Candid V1 is used for
Candid
V1
is
used
to
treat
vaginal
infections
caused
by
fungi
–
mainly
candida and/or trichomonas.
How Candid V1 works
Candid V1 inhibits or kills many fungi,
including yeasts and dermatophytes; it is
also
effective
against
sexually
transmitted infection.
Before you use Candid V1

If you are allergic (hypersensitive) to
clotrimazole or any components of the
preparation.

During your period as it may be less
effective
Pregnancy and lactation
Please consult your doctor or pharmacist
if
you
are
pregnant,
planning
for
pregnancy or breast-feeding before using
any medicine.

Before you start to use it
Check with your doctor or pharmacist
before taking Candid V1 if:
- If you are allergic (hypersensitive) to
clotrimazole or any components of the
preparation.

Taking other medicines
Please tell your doctor or pharmacist if
you are taking, or have recently taken
any other medicines. This includes any
medicines which you have bought
without a prescription.
Especially if you are taking:

tacrolimus and sirolimus
(immunosuppressive drugs)

Candid V1Vaginal Insert:
1 tablet should be used as a single dose
inserted deep in vagina.

The treatment should not be carried out during menstruation but should
be
completed before this begins. For complete relief, it is advisable to
apply
CANDID Cream to the area around the vagina. For the prevention of
reinfection, the partner should be treated locally with CANDID Cream.
USE IN SPECIAL POPULATIONS
PREGNANCY
PREGNANCY CATEGORY B
Clotrimazole Vaginal insert have been used safely in patients in their
second
and third trimesters of pregnancy, but have not been evaluated in
patients
during their first trimester.
A study of Clotrimazole use in pregnancy did not find an association
between
congenital abnormalities and use of Clotrimazole (either vaginal
pessaries or
topical cream) during pregnancy.
LACTATION
Excretion of Clotrimazole in breast milk is unknown. Clotrimazole
Vaginal
insert should be used in lactating women, only if clearly needed.
PAEDIATRIC PATIENTS
Clotrimazole Vaginal insert should not be used in children under 12
years of age
DIRECTIONS FOR USE OF THE APPLICATOR
1. Pull out plunger A until it stops. Place one
Vaginal insert into the applicator B.
2. Insert applicator containing the Tablet
carefully as deep as possible into the vagina
(this is done best by lying on the back).
3. Push plunger A until it stops, thereby
depositing the insert into the vagina.
Withdraw the applicator.
4. After use, remove plunger A completely by pulling
it out of the applicator B. Thereafter wash both in
warm (not boiling) soapy water and dry completely.
